Consequent
on voluntary retirement of Sri Surinder Pal as Member of Andhra Pradesh
Electricity Regulatory Commission on
16-6-2008, the Government have constituted a Selection Committee headed by
Justice Sri D. Vamana Rao, Retired Judge of High Court as the Chairman, Chief
Secretary to Government of Andhra Pradesh and Chairman, Central Electricity
Authority, New Delhi as Members vide G.O.Ms.No. 60, Energy (Pr.III) Department,
dt. 21-5-2008 to select the Member in APERC in the place of Sri Surinder Pal.
The Convenor
of the Selection Committee has given Notification in leading News Papers both
English & Telugu and to various Departments/Organisations calling for
nominations from the eligible candidates for appointment of Member in APERC.
The Selection
Committee met on 9-7-2008 and submitted its recommendation to the Government.
The
Government based on the recommendation of the Selection Committee, have
appointed Sri C.R.Sekhar Reddy, IRS (Retired) as Member in APERC vide
G.O.Ms.No.80, Energy (Pr.III) Department, dt.11-7-2008, for a term of Five
Years with effect from the date on which he assumes office.
He was
administered Oath of Office and Oath of Secrecy by the Hon’ble Chairman, APERC
on 14-08-2008.

PROFILE OF SRI C.R. SEKHAR REDDY, IRS (RETIRED), MEMBER, APERC
Sri C.R.
Sekhar Reddy, IRS., (Retired), born on 11th April, 1953, Graduated
in MA, LLB. He was selected to Indian
Revenue Service (Income Tax) in the year 1980 and posted to Nagpur.
During his
meritorious service in the Indian Revenue Service for Twenty eight years, he
served in Andhra Pradesh and other States in various capacities viz., Income
Tax Officer in Nagpur, Cochin, Hyderabad, ADIT in Hyderabad, Private Secretary,
Ministry of Rural Development (GOI) and Deputy Secretary, Health & Family
Welfare (GOI), New Delhi, Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax (TDS) in Mysore and
Bangalore, DDIT in Bangalore, Addl. Commissioner of Income Tax (International
Taxation) in Bangalore, Commissioner of Income Tax in Bangalore and
Chennai. He worked as Commissioner of
Income Tax (A) II, Rajkot till 03-08-2008 and retired from service voluntarily
on 04-08-2008.
